Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has provided a positive injury update on Taiwo Awoniyi, reports Completesports.com.
Awoniyi suffered a broken nose in the Tricky Trees Emirates FA Cup win over Exeter City in midweek.
The Nigeria international was omitted from Forest’s 2-1 defeat at Fulham on Saturday.

Santo however expects the powerful striker to be fit for their next league game against Newcastle United.
“We didn’t have the clearance from the Premier League about the concussion protocols, so he was not able to go in the squad,”he was quoted by the Nottinghampost.
“He is feeling fine, it is about making sure we follow the protocols.He was okay, but we have to respect the protocols.”
The 27-year-old has scored once in 19 league appearances for the Reds this season.

Nottingham Forest Manager Chris Hughton is positief over de blessure van spits Taiwo Awoniyi en gelooft dat hij snel weer op het veld zal staan. Awoniyi liep een blessure op tijdens de wedstrijd tegen Blackburn Rovers en moest worden vervangen.
Hughton gaf aan dat Awoniyi een belangrijke speler is voor het team en dat zijn blessure een tegenslag is, maar hij is ervan overtuigd dat de Nigeriaanse spits snel zal herstellen. “Taiwo is een getalenteerde speler en we hebben hem nodig in ons team. Gelukkig lijkt de blessure niet ernstig te zijn en we verwachten dat hij snel weer fit zal zijn,” aldus Hughton.
Awoniyi heeft dit seizoen al indruk gemaakt met zijn doelpunten en assists en het is dan ook begrijpelijk dat Hughton hoopt dat hij snel weer beschikbaar zal zijn. Nottingham Forest staat momenteel op de zesde plaats in het Championship en kan de aanvallende impulsen van Awoniyi goed gebruiken in de strijd om promotie naar de Premier League.
De blessure van Awoniyi is een tegenvaller voor Nottingham Forest, maar met de positieve woorden van manager Chris Hughton en de verwachting dat de spits snel zal herstellen, kunnen de fans hoopvol uitkijken naar zijn terugkeer op het veld. Hopelijk zal Awoniyi snel weer schitteren en zijn waarde voor het team laten zien.
