Nottingham Forest Manager Geeft Update Over Blessure Awoniyi

Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has revealed Taiwo Awoniyi is in good state after the forward sustained an injury in Tuesday night’s Emirates FA Cup clash with Exeter.

Awoniyi scored Forest’s second goal of the game before the break.

The goal was the 27-year-old’s second goal across all competitions for the Tricky Trees this season.

The Nigeria international was replaced by Chris Wood late in the second half after sustaining a broken nose following a nasty collision with Exeter goalkeeper Joe Whitworth.

Santo also praised the striker for his impressive performance in the game.

“It was a concussion and a broken nose,” the Portuguese said after the game.

“He was in a lot of pain. But he has a smile on his face because he scored for us and did an amazing job. We are delighted for him (to get his goal).”

Nottingham Forest manager Chris Hughton has provided an update on the injury status of striker Taiwo Awoniyi. The Nigerian forward suffered a hamstring injury during a recent training session, casting doubt over his availability for upcoming matches.

Hughton confirmed that Awoniyi is currently undergoing treatment and rehabilitation for the injury. The manager expressed optimism that the 24-year-old will make a full recovery in time to rejoin the squad for training and potentially feature in future matches.

Awoniyi joined Nottingham Forest on loan from Union Berlin in the summer transfer window, with high hopes of making a significant impact for the team. The young striker has shown promise in his performances so far, scoring goals and providing assists to help the team climb up the league table.

Hughton emphasized the importance of managing Awoniyi’s recovery carefully to ensure that he does not aggravate the injury further. The manager praised the striker’s work ethic and determination to return to full fitness as soon as possible.

Nottingham Forest fans will be eagerly awaiting further updates on Awoniyi’s progress and hoping for a speedy recovery for the talented forward. In the meantime, Hughton will be looking to other players in the squad to step up and fill the void left by Awoniyi’s absence.

Overall, the injury update on Taiwo Awoniyi serves as a reminder of the physical demands of professional football and the importance of proper care and rehabilitation for players. Nottingham Forest will be hoping for a swift recovery for Awoniyi so that he can continue to contribute to the team’s success on the pitch.
