Nasarawa United have launched a determined effort to rescue their struggling 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign by unveiling eight new players on Friday, 17 January 2025 ahead of the second half of the season billed to kick off next weekend, Completesports.com reports.
The Solid Miners currently sit 20th on the league table after matchday 19, and an understandably concerned Technical Directo, Kabiru Dogo, is leaving no stone unturned in his bid to steer the team away from relegation.
Completesports.com investigations reveal that, as a first step, Dogo has released no fewer than 14 players deemed surplus to requirements to create room for fresh talent. The club have since bolstered their squad with eight new signings during the January transfer window.

The new players were officially unveiled in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, during a ceremony on Friday, 17 January.
Among the notable arrivals are former Heartland forward Ugochukwu Leonard and the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) duo of attacking midfielder Aliyu Abubakar and centre-back Benson Abbey.
Other signings include Peace Dewan, a left-back from Sunshine Stars of Akure, and Solomon Chigozie, a central midfielder from Kwara United FC. The squad has also been strengthened by winger Peter Eneji, who returns from Busaiteen FC in Bahrain, forward Benjamin Jack from Golden Boot FC of Benin Republic, and winger Onyema Emmanuel from Ikorodu City FC of Lagos.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, Solomon Babanjah, Chairman of Nasarawa United, expressed confidence in the impact of the new players.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome these exceptional players to Nasarawa United FC,” Babanjah said. “This is a major statement of intent from the club, and we are confident that these signings will help us achieve our goals in the second stanza of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League campaign.
“These players are household names and have written their names in gold as far as the top-flight league in Nigeria is concerned.
“Our situation in the league is precarious, but with these top-class additions, we are well-positioned to turn things around and return the team to where we rightly belong—the summit of the league.
