Former Chelsea manager Ruud Gullit has admitted that the Blues have lost their real identity in the Premier League.
In a chat with The Sun, Gullit said that he can’t recognize the club and the direction it looks to be heading in.
“Chelsea to me, still, is a little bit of an enigma,’ he began. ‘I don’t know really how good they are or how bad they are. They are looking for their identity a little bit. They are trying to creep up the table and maybe in the long term they will be contenders for the title. But I don’t know yet where they are exactly.

“People tell me that one of the problems with Chelsea is that they change the manager all the time – so tell me something new!
“I don’t get it. I don’t get what they really, really want. Even if they are successful, they still sack you as a coach. So I don’t know. That’s why I say Chelsea’s still an enigma. I try to find out what they stand for, what is their philosophy and what is the football they want us to watch?”
Ruud Gullit, voormalig voetballer en manager, heeft onlangs zijn mening gegeven over de huidige staat van Chelsea Football Club. Volgens Gullit heeft de club geen duidelijke identiteit en mist het een duidelijke visie voor de toekomst.

Hij wijst op het feit dat Chelsea de afgelopen jaren regelmatig van manager is gewisseld en daardoor geen stabiele basis heeft kunnen opbouwen.
Daarnaast benadrukt Gullit dat Chelsea ook op het gebied van spelersbeleid geen duidelijke koers lijkt te varen. De club heeft de reputatie om veel geld uit te geven aan nieuwe spelers, maar slaagt er niet altijd in om deze spelers succesvol te integreren in het team. Dit heeft volgens Gullit geleid tot een gebrek aan consistentie en een gebrek aan een herkenbare speelstijl.
Gullit roept Chelsea op om een duidelijke identiteit te ontwikkelen en vast te houden. Hij gelooft dat dit cruciaal is voor het succes van de club op de lange termijn. Door een heldere visie te formuleren en hier consequent aan vast te houden, kan Chelsea volgens Gullit weer aansluiting vinden bij de topclubs in Engeland en Europa.
Het is duidelijk dat Ruud Gullit zich zorgen maakt over de huidige staat van Chelsea en hij hoopt dat de club snel stappen zal zetten om een duidelijke identiteit te ontwikkelen. Alleen op die manier kan Chelsea volgens Gullit weer succesvol worden en haar positie als topclub veiligstellen.
