KRC Genk striker Tolu Arokodare says he’s willing to play for the Super Eagles but has not been contacted by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Arokodare, who has been painting the Belgian league with goals, stated this in an interview with TribalFootball.
He noted that he will continue to be patient and work hard in order to get invited into the senior national team.
“We have a huge talent in our attack, obviously, and the whole squad is full of talents. I haven’t been contacted by the NFF, but with time, if I keep performing right and doing the right things, I think I will get that call soon. With me not being called up, I think it’s not my time, and I think the players that are being called up before me worked to be in that position; they deserved every invitation to the Super Eagles. I just need to have patience and work harder.

Arokodare also expressed his desire to play in the Premier League despite Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface’s decision not to play in England.
“Boniface is saying he doesn’t want to play in the Premier League; that’s his preference. Everyone has what they want for themselves, and he has his style of play; he knows the kind of football he wants, and we are all different human beings, and we all know what we want.
“For me, I would love to play in the Premier League; it will be a dream come true for me; everyone is there but can’t want the same thing. If he says the Premier League isn’t his style, then we have to respect his taste and decisions.”

Afgelopen week heeft de Nigeriaanse voetballer Arokodare voor opschudding gezorgd door te beweren dat hij niet gecontacteerd is door de Nigeriaanse voetbalbond (NFF). De 20-jarige spits, die momenteel speelt voor het Letse FK Valmiera, beweerde dat hij geen enkel contact heeft gehad met de NFF en dat hij niet van plan is om voor het nationale team van Nigeria te spelen.
Arokodare, die in Nigeria geboren is maar op jonge leeftijd naar Letland verhuisde, heeft de afgelopen maanden indruk gemaakt met zijn prestaties bij FK Valmiera. Hij scoorde regelmatig doelpunten en trok daarmee de aandacht van verschillende clubs en nationale teams. Ondanks zijn succes op het veld, lijkt het erop dat Arokodare niet geïnteresseerd is in een internationale carrière met Nigeria.

Als hij echter besluit om voor een ander land te spelen, moeten fans en experts zijn keuze respecteren en hem steunen in zijn carrière.
Het blijft afwachten hoe deze situatie zich verder zal ontwikkelen en of Arokodare alsnog besluit om voor Nigeria uit te komen. Wat er ook gebeurt, één ding is zeker: deze jonge spits heeft het potentieel om een grote naam te worden in het internationale voetbal en we zullen ongetwijfeld nog veel van hem horen in de toekomst.
