Bayelsa United is still a work in progress in the ongoing 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League, Ladan Bosso, according to the Head Coach of the ‘Prosperity Boys’, Completesports.com reports.
Bosso, a former Nigeria’s U20 Flying Eagles coach spoke at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa, after his team came from behind to rescue a point against visiting Kwara United in Sunday’s NPFL Matchday Four fixture.
“Bayelsa United is still a work in progress,” Bosso told Complete sports.co. “Not snatching the three points today isn’t in any way what we planned for,” he continued.

“But I believe it’s a work in progress. Time is not on our side, so we need to do something in the shortest possible time.”
Akeem Akanni put the visitors in front six minutes past the hour mark before Yahaya Ibrahim drew the home side level 11 minutes later with a sumptuous finish.
Bayelsa United now have two points from a possible nine from three matches. They currently have a game in hand.
They are set to travel to Nasarawa United this weekend for a Matchday Five fixture, and Bosso is looking ahead to that trip with shrewd optimism, even as he reveals that the ‘Prosperity Boys’ are improving ‘segment by segment.’
“If Kwara United can come here (Yenagoa) and take a point, we can go to Nasarawa and take all three,” Bosso said confidently.

“You see, what we’re trying to do is get the team to blend. Today (against Kwara United), we focused on fortifying the defense first.
“The last time we played Kano Pillars, the problem was with the defense, and we tried to address that today.
“I think as we’re fixing the defense, we should also work on improving the midfield and attack.”
Bosso, 57, has had managerial spells at various top Nigerian clubs, including Kano Pillars, Wikki Tourists, Abia Warriors, FC Ifeanyi Ubah, and El-Kanemi Warriors, before his current role at Bayelsa United.
