Nigeria and Bayer Leverkusen rampant forward, Victor Boniface, has spoken of his and his Super Eagles teammates’ determination, commitment, and resolve to give their all in Friday night’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Completesports.com reports..
The 2023/2024 German Bundesliga winner spoke to Completesports.com Wednesday ahead the team’s impending gritty clash with the South African side on Friday.
Boniface got a recall to the senior national team setup after missing the Super Eagles cut for the 2023 Nations Cup showpiece in Ivory Coast in January.
He is one of the forwards expected to to shoulder Super Eagles’ goal-scoring responsibility against the Bafana Bafana following Victor Osimhen’s absence.

“It’s not just about me but it’s about the whole team in general,” Boniface told Completesports.com.
“We’re working really hard, ready to give our 100 per cent on Friday against South Africa to ensure victory.”
Boniface reckons that victories against South Africa and in the other remaining qualifiers is important in the Super Eagles quest to earn the USA/Mexico/Canada FIFA World Cup finals spot.
He added: “It’s important that we win, not just against South Africa but in the other qualifying games.
“The World Cup ticket is crucial and only winning games, not just on Friday, but in the other upcoming games is very important”.
Boniface acknowledges that South Africa and, of course, Republic of Benin won’t be a stroll in the park game, but quickly added that Super Eagles have all the credentials to win.
“It won’t be easy games, starting from Friday. But I believe that we’ve a good squad that can get the job done.

“Every single one of us is determined and is working hard to get the job done, including the coaching staff.
“With our fans behind us, I believe the team will deliver”.
Boniface conspicuously missed the last Nations Cup showpiece and he would go on to heap plaudits on his teammates for holding the green-white-green high in Cote d’Ivoire.
“Of course, I really missed it. But the good thing is that even though I wasn’t available, the team did really well without me,” Boniface responded.
“They were in the final, though they didn’t win it. They were amazing and I was really proud of them”.
Reflecting on his goal-scoring form in the concluded German Bundesliga in which his goals helped Bayer Levekusen to to win the Bundesliga, Boniface attributes it to God, dedication and hard work.
“It’s God, hard work and dedication”, he said with smile.
“Everything is working. The three are very important and I really thank God for His grace”, he summed up.
